About My Wheel Name
My Wheel Name is a free spinning wheel that runs in your browser, built for picking names, making decisions, and settling anything a group can't agree on. Type in names, load a preset, or import a class roster, then spin once for a fair answer that nobody can pin on the person who chose. The core tool is free and needs no account.
Signing in is optional and only matters if you want to save wheels or share them by link. There's no paid tier: every preset, customisation option, and game mode is available to everyone.
The site is operated by Monaross, trading as My Wheel Name, the same operator named in our Privacy Policy. It's an independent project built and maintained by a small team who use the wheel for the same things you do: classroom picks, giveaway draws, movie nights, and the eternal argument about where to eat. Everything published here, from presets to guides and articles, is written and reviewed by the team that builds the tool, so the descriptions match how the wheel actually behaves.
Every spin uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, crypto.getRandomValues, rather than the weaker Math.random that many casual tools rely on. Every entry has an equal chance on every spin unless you deliberately add weights. There's no streak memory, so no outcome is ever due, and spins are computed on your device rather than logged on a server.
Preset data comes from clearly identified sources: TMDb for the movie pickers, the Open Trivia Database for trivia wheels, Google local data for Nearby Places, and curated team lists for the sports wheels. The site is funded by advertising through Google AdSense, which is the trade that keeps the wheel free, with no paywall and no selling of wheel content. Quick Guide
The Standard and Multi Wheels:
Spin the wheel to select a single name from the Standard wheel or two names at once from the Multi wheel. There are multiple ways to add names into the wheel, you can type, drag and drop, paste and import names from text and CVS document as well as Google Classroom.
Presets:
We've created some great and unique Presets. Open up the Preset menu in the nav bar and select one to load into the wheel or Multi Wheel. We have everything from Sports to Colors and the Fun ones like Yes/No, Rock-Paper-Scissors and even Nearby Places if you can't choose your next outing location.
Options:
You can use Options to choose a few winners at a time, remove them after a spin or let all names be selected in sequence with the Elimination feature.
My Wheels:
Save your wheel configurations with the names you added and customizations you applied, then save them in the My Wheels menu in the nav bar. Once a wheel has been saved, you can Share it and let others use your creation (you need to be signed in to save and share wheels).
Customization:
We offer many wheel customizations. You can use our wheel color presets, change individual wheel segments, the color of the spin button and much more. There are so many customizations for you to explore and make the wheel your own.
