What Is My Wheel Name?
There's no shortage of wheel spinners online. Most of them look like they haven't been touched since 2012. I built MyWheelName.com because I wanted a version that was actually fun to use, not just functional.
A wheel does something a plain list can't. Stare at a list of options and your brain starts ranking them, weighing pros and cons, and ten minutes later you still haven't decided. Spin a wheel instead and there's a real beat of anticipation while it slows down — the same decision, but it suddenly feels like an event instead of a chore.
Why I Actually Built This
Psychologist Barry Schwartz has argued for years that too many options make decisions harder, not easier. Not everyone agrees with the research, but most people recognize the feeling: when anything is possible, choosing nothing starts to look appealing. You end up back on the same playlist, the same three restaurants, the same show you've already watched twice.
Handing the small stuff to a randomizer breaks that loop. You're not evaluating anymore, just reacting to whatever comes up. And the flicker of relief — or disappointment — you feel when the wheel lands usually tells you what you actually wanted, faster than you'd have worked it out on your own.
Three Places This Solves a Real Problem
Every teacher knows the silence that follows "any volunteers?" — a room full of people suddenly fascinated by their notebooks. Spin the wheel instead and it picks someone. Nobody feels singled out, because nobody chose them.
Groups are also better at accepting outcomes than choosing them. Where to eat, what to tackle first, who gets stuck with the annoying job — hand it to the wheel and the decision has no fingerprints on it, which somehow makes it easier for everyone to live with.
Reach for a preset if you're stuck on specifics: the Color Picker when you can't settle on a palette, the Yes or No wheel when a decision keeps bouncing back and forth. Sometimes the right call is the one you didn't have to make yourself.
The Honest Pitch
Small decisions eat up more time than they're worth. Let the wheel handle them so your attention goes toward the ones that actually matter — ten minutes of back-and-forth, traded for one quick spin.

Quick Guide
The Standard and Multi Wheels:
Spin the wheel to select a single name from the Standard wheel or two names at once from the Multi wheel. There are multiple ways to add names into the wheel, you can type, drag and drop, paste and import names from text and CVS document as well as Google Classroom.
Presets:
We've created some great and unique Presets. Open up the Preset menu in the nav bar and select one to load into the wheel or Multi Wheel. We have everything from Sports to Colors and the Fun ones like Yes/No, Rock-Paper-Scissors and even Nearby Places if you can't choose your next outing location.
Options:
You can use Options to choose a few winners at a time, remove them after a spin or let all names be selected in sequence with the Elimination feature.
My Wheels:
Save your wheel configurations with the names you added and customizations you applied, then save them in the My Wheels menu in the nav bar. Once a wheel has been saved, you can Share it and let others use your creation (you need to be signed in to save and share wheels).
Customization:
We offer many wheel customizations. You can use our wheel color presets, change individual wheel segments, the color of the spin button and much more. There are so many customizations for you to explore and make the wheel your own.
