What Is the Nearby Places Wheel?
The Nearby Places wheel uses your device's location to pull real options from Google Maps for whichever category you pick — restaurants, cafes, bars, parks, museums, cinemas, shopping centres, gyms, bakeries, libraries, or nightlife. Every result is an actual nearby place with a maps link attached, not a placeholder. Your location is only used to fetch that list; it's never stored anywhere.
The "Where Should We Go?" Problem
Search "restaurants near me" and you get a wall of pins, star ratings, and reviews — more information than you need to make a decision, and somehow that makes it harder, not easier.
This wheel reads that same local data, loads a real set of nearby options onto the wheel, and turns the whole search into one spin. The pick still feels legitimate rather than random, because it's coming from an actual list of nearby businesses, not a preset list someone wrote months ago.
Where This Comes In Handy
The classic outing standoff — date night, a family outing, a friend group where everyone insists they don't mind and clearly does. Two or more people, nobody willing to commit first. The wheel just makes the call.
It's also a decent way to actually see the city you've lived in for years without really noticing.

Quick Guide
The Standard and Multi Wheels:
Spin the wheel to select a single name from the Standard wheel or two names at once from the Multi wheel. There are multiple ways to add names into the wheel, you can type, drag and drop, paste and import names from text and CVS document as well as Google Classroom.
Presets:
We've created some great and unique Presets. Open up the Preset menu in the nav bar and select one to load into the wheel or Multi Wheel. We have everything from Sports to Colors and the Fun ones like Yes/No, Rock-Paper-Scissors and even Nearby Places if you can't choose your next outing location.
Options:
You can use Options to choose a few winners at a time, remove them after a spin or let all names be selected in sequence with the Elimination feature.
My Wheels:
Save your wheel configurations with the names you added and customizations you applied, then save them in the My Wheels menu in the nav bar. Once a wheel has been saved, you can Share it and let others use your creation (you need to be signed in to save and share wheels).
Customization:
We offer many wheel customizations. You can use our wheel color presets, change individual wheel segments, the color of the spin button and much more. There are so many customizations for you to explore and make the wheel your own.
